Welcome to the Rough: Where Code Meets the Green🏌️‍♂️💻

Hey there! I’m Matt Dyor, and if you’ve landed here, you’re likely standing at the intersection of "How do I ship this feature?" and "How do I fix my slice?"

Welcome to the Rough: Where Code Meets the Green🏌️‍♂️💻

I’ve spent years deep in the weeds of web and mobile development, and I created hello.dyor.com ↗ to be a digital clubhouse for my projects, experiments, and the occasional deep dive into the tech that’s currently grabbing my attention.

What I’m Building (and Breaking)

My brain tends to live in two worlds: The IDE and The Fairway. Here’s a snapshot of what you can expect to see here:

  • Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP): I’m a huge believer in the "write once, run everywhere" dream—but without the overhead. I’ll be sharing my journey navigating the KMP ecosystem and how to share logic without losing your mind.

  • React Native: Sometimes you just need that JavaScript speed. I’m constantly looking at how React Native bridges the gap and where it fits into a modern dev stack.

  • Android Studio & AI: The way we write code is changing. I’m obsessed with how AI integration within Android Studio (and beyond) is turning us into "augmented" developers. Expect tutorials on how to make the tooling work for you.

  • Golf Tech: I don’t just play golf; I build for it. Whether it’s a swing tracker, a betting assistant, or a stat-cruncher, I love applying mobile tech to the game of golf.

Why "DYOR"?

In the crypto world, DYOR stands for "Do Your Own Research."

It’s a mantra I live by. Documentation is great, but there is no substitute for getting your hands dirty, breaking a build, and figuring out the why behind the how. This blog is my way of showing my work and hopefully saving you a few hours of troubleshooting along the way.

Stay Tuned

I’ll be dropping technical deep-dives, app post-mortems, and maybe the occasional rant about a three-putt. Whether you’re a developer looking for KMP tips or a golfer who happens to love clean UI, I’m glad you’re here.

Let’s build something cool.

— Matt
